Students will learn about Singapore's early traders and their need for business expansion. They will be taken through the days before the Fall of Singapore and how communications changed because of the Occupation. 

Highlights:

Students are introduced into the world of philately through a guided tour with an activity booklet to complete.

National Stamp Collecting Competition 2017 Hands-on Workshop

Date: January - May 2017
The National Stamp Collecting Competition (NSCC) seeks to promote the study of postage stamps and philatelic materials, to learn about Singapore and the world around us. Students use stamps and philatelic materials to explore a variety of topics such as nature, science and culture. Top winners stand to win awards and their winning entries will be displayed. NSCC is organised by Singapore Philatelic Museum and supported by the Ministry of Education.

Highlights:

Students will gain general knowledge about Singapore and other places around the world. They will also acquire learning and thinking skills such as language development, writing, research, organisation and creativity.

Let our little museum come to your school! Listen as we tell stories of stamps were created, how it changed the world and why it is so important to us today. Be inspired to look at these little philatelic treasures in a whole new light. 

Highlights:

Students can learn about the amazing world of stamps. A Question & Answer session is available as part of the talk.
